EU plans in March to extend sanctions against Russians, Bloomberg news agency reported, citing sources in Brussels.
“Four EU officials said that the member states (EU) plan in mid-March to prolong the sanctions for another six months for 100 citizens of Ukraine and Russia: among them Arkady Rotenberg co-owner of SMP Bank and InvestCapitalBank, and the largest shareholder of the bank “Russia” Yuri Kovalchuk, “- said the agency.
The European Union imposed sanctions against Russia in 2014. The reason for this decision were the events in Ukraine. Since then, the restrictions repeatedly extended and expanded.
