Bure told why renounced US citizenship

Famous hockey player Pavel Bure renounced US citizenship a year ago, report agency R-Sport, which Bure told this in a telephone conversation.

Earlier it was reported that the US Treasury report Bure is listed among those “who have chosen renunciation of US citizenship.”

“Reason Firstly, I – Russian man, all my life I said that my house – Moscow”, – said the agency hockey. He explained that for a long time not playing, and the last six years, he has lived with his family in Russia.

“I have a year ago renounced US citizenship, gave the US a passport, because it is I do not need. Maybe for someone this step is surprising, but for me, no. I – Russian man, I live in Russia, in Moscow” – said Bure.

Pavel Bure began his career at CSKA Moscow and was twice champion of the USSR. Since 1991, he played in the National Hockey League, where he played for the “Vancouver Canucks”, “Florida Panthers” and “New York Rangers”. Total Bure held in 702 NHL games, scored 437 goals. For speed forward received the nickname “The Russian Rocket”.

With the Russian team won silver Bure Olympics 1998 in Nagano and a bronze – in 2002 in Salt Lake City, as well as the World Cup in 1990.

In 2012 it was included in the NHL Hall of Fame, and in 2015 he became the first Russian citizen, whose number NHL withdrew from treatment.
