Simple Ukrainians have repeatedly asked the leadership of the Crimea to supply electricity to the southern regions of the country, told RIA Novosti the head of the State Committee on Interethnic Relations Zaur Smirnov.
According to him, residents of the regions bordering Crimea have themselves suffered from the energy blockade of the peninsula and have remained with limited resources.
He stressed that ordinary Ukrainians continue to maintain ties with the Crimea, realizing and accepting the right choice of the inhabitants of the peninsula for reunification with Russia.
Earlier, Mikhail Sheremet, a member of the State Duma Energy Committee, did not rule out that in the future Crimea, when it builds sufficient energy potential, will be able to export surplus electricity to Ukraine.
