The Russian Traffic Rules may be amended to bring them closer to pan-European standards. This is reported by “Kommersant” referring to the representative of Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.
According to the newspaper, Shuvalov instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Transport Ministry to work out amendments to the legislation. One of these changes will be new rules for the passage of roundabouts. Now drivers of cars on the circle should give way to those who enter it. As a result, the pan-European principle can be fixed in the SDA: cars moving in a circle always have an advantage if there is no sign “Give way”.
In addition, it is proposed to create zones of “soothing traffic”, where pedestrians can cross the roadway anywhere, and cars must travel at a speed of 10-20 km / h.
According to the president of the Interregional Association of Driving Schools Tatyana Shutyleva, if amendments are adopted, new rules will need to be duplicated by road signs – for the speedy adaptation of drivers to changes in traffic regulations.
